Reaches for you who have fallen and scraped your heart raw, for you who feel the shame of words that have snaked off your tongue and poisoned corners of your life, for you who keep trying to cover up pain with perfectionism. Three words come through the dense thicket of failure: Where are you?
Your God refuses to give up on you. Your God looks for you when you're feeling lost, and your God seeks you out when you're down, and your God calls for you when you feel cast aside. (Page 23)
These words are so impacting. I am reminded again of God's patient presence in my life, through my joys, my hurts, and my failures. There are times that I can almost sense Him saying, "Dana, where are you?" A conviction in my spirit that reminds me that while He is there, I have been searching for satisfaction in everything but Him. "Our fall was, has always been, and always will be, that we aren't satisfied in God and what He gives. We hunger for something more, something other." (Page 22) I feel most satisfied in Him, when I have not allowed the chaos of this world to consume me, when I have quieted myself before him, when I go to the Word, when I reflect on His character, when I talk to Him throughout the day. I feel comforted, knowing that God seeks me out when I am far from Him, and it fuels my desire to fall into His arms and to know Him more.
What does it mean to you that God seeks you out and finds you when you are far from Him? Have you ever sensed Him saying "Where Are You?" and how did you respond?
Take a moment to answer one of the questions above. Also, respond to 2-3 other women by commenting on their posts.
I will be checking in over the next few days, and will be back again on Sunday evening with a new post.
Praying for you all!
