In these last few days, I would like us to share a meaningful or favorite quote that came from "The Greatest Gift" book.
For myself, there are many to choose from, but I especially connected with December 13th, "Looking on Hearts." I was reminded to look beyond the surface and see the heart of things...of people. Anne writes, "It's strange how it affects us--from housekeeping to soul-keeping: if it's mostly the surfaces that absorb us, then we're mostly superficial. When my priorities aren't the things seen--when my priorities are rather all things unseen---it's only then that my life begins to have substance and weight." It is easy to for me to get wrapped up in the surface of things...I want to spend my time focusing on things that matter...things that have eternal consequences. I can be so easily distracted. My mind goes to a favorite verse, 2 Corinthians 2:18. "So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."
So how about you? Over the course of this month, what words from our devotional did God use to draw you closer to Him? What jumped out at you from the pages? What was your favorite day? What touched your heart?
Share in the comments section below, and then visit back again to comment on 1-2 other people's post. This will be our last online sharing time. I will be back again on Christmas day with one more post.
Love,
Dana
